Sporting Opportunities
There are
opportunities for students to compete in a range of sports over the year. In
some cases students are required to play for clubs but where there are school
competitions we field teams.

SPORTS ACADEMYThe Ross Intermediate Sports Academy aims to offer an insight to keen and talented sports people and give them the opportunity to grow as an athlete. The Academy introduces new sports and opportunities as well as teaching knowledge about fitness and ways to increase personal levels. It is an honour to be in the academy and members are expected to perform positively in class, as well as during Academy times.
There is a cost of $60.00 to be in the Sports Academy. Students also receive a Sports Academy shirt as part of the programme. 
SUPER SPORT COMPETITIONSRoss Intermediate takes part in all Super Sport competitions. This involves competing against other local Intermediates from Levin to Wanganui as well as Feilding and Masterton. Sports offered through this include:
· Cricket
· Golf
· Hockey
· Tennis
· Soccer
· Rugby
· Touch Rugby
· Mountain Biking
We charge $15.00 for each Super Sport.
SPORTING EXCHANGESWe have an annual exchange with Manukorihi Intermediate in Waitara. This exchange has been operating for over 20 years and it is always a great experience for all students. In 2010 we will be travelling to Manukorihi. While nervous at first, the experience of being billeted and spending time with another family is a great one. We charge $65.00 for this exchange.
