Camps 2010
Rooms 5 & 151-5 MarchRooms 5 and 15 have nearly recovered after a hectic week at Vertical Horizon! The children were able to participate in an array of exciting activities including the Flying Kiwi, Grass Boarding, Kayaking, a number of high ropes courses, Raft Building, Flying Fox and many more. In the afternoons we relaxed by the lake, partaking in the mud and waterslides, crossing the three-wire bridge or challenging each other on the slippery log. The evenings were taken up with quizzes, damper making, eeling, cooking marshmallows, role plays and the camp favourite, spotlight. Vertical Horizon was an amazing location and we were lucky to have the sun smiling on us for the majority of the trip. We would like to thank our amazing parents - Tim Wilson, Craig Wales, Jo Hawthorn, Maria Rowe, Robyn Halligan, Colin Erickson, Mark Finegan, Miss Peters and Mr Filer for all their help. A great time was had by all.
Mr. Codyre Visits Rooms 5 & 152 MarchMr. Codyre spent the day hanging out with some adventurous students at Vertical Horizon in Taranaki.
 Rooms 3 & 68-12 March
During week 6, Room 6 went on camp to Forest Lakes in Otaki and had a blast of a time. Fortunately we had brilliant weather for most of the camp with only a small amount of rain during the night.
The students were put into groups of 10 and each got a the chance to enjoy swimming, horse riding, kayaking, a water slide and mud slide, abseiling and archery followed by the flying fox. Some of the night time activities included spot light and a burma night trail where the students were scared by parents hiding in the bushes.
It was a fun filled camp enjoyed by all the student, parents and teachers!

Rooms 4 & 108-12 MarchRooms 4 and 10 had an awesome time in the Hawkes Bay. We started our
trip with a visit to the Onekawa Aquatic Centre. Pitching our tents
and getting ourselves organized took a bit of patience and organization
but we got there. During our week we did a lot of exciting
activities. We participated in an Amazing Race around Napier, tried
out our skating skills at Skate Zone, tried our hand at Indoor
Climbing and Canadian Canoeing, took a a tractor ride out to Cape
Kidnappers to see the gannets and took a tour around Mr Apple. We were
introduced to Hot Chick for tea Thursday night and ended our camp on
Friday with a swim at Waimarama Beach.
Rooms 1 & 915-19 MarchRooms 9- Nineke and 1- Onederland went in week 7 to the sunny(ish) shores of Camp Green Pastures in Wanganui. Battling the weather, winds and vomiting bug the intrepid campers found the positives and had a wonderful week of outside activities. The highlight for many being covered in smelly thick mud during the dreaded 'mud run' and finishing by washing it all off on the water slide! Thank you to the best group ever of wonderful parent helpers and the two fantastic teachers!
